Symbolisme

Le Koua représente le feu au-dessus du ciel. Ainsi l’homme supérieur réprime le mal, répand le bien et se conforme en tout au décret du ciel.

Commentaire

La vraie grandeur, c’est la bonté possédant les honneurs ; le grand gardant le milieu, et petits et grands restant en harmonie. Force et fermeté avec habileté et intelligence forment sa vertu. Il est d’accord avec le ciel, agit à son temps et prospère grandement.

Accepting loss and abandon, this is how one reduces the danger.

La grandeur est le partage des seuls Kongs. Eux seuls peuvent faire des dons convenables au Fils du Ciel. Un homme inférieur ne le peut pas. L’homme vulgaire blesserait (le Fils du Ciel s’il s’avisait de lui faire un don).

Accepter la perte et l'abandon, c'est ainsi que l'on fait reculer le danger.

14.5 (14 > 1) - THE TÂ YÛ HEXAGRAM.

The fifth line, divided, shows the sincerity of its subject reciprocated by that of all the others (represented in the hexagram). Let him display a proper majesty, and there will be good fortune.

14.5 (14 > 1) - Not wanting too much

All are accepted but one will move away from those who ask for the impossible.

Le grand apporte toute sincérité dans ses rapports ; majestueux et grave, il est heureux. Il exprime sincèrement ses pensées.

Il est cru en ce qu’il dit ; même quand il change d’avis on a confiance en sa sagesse.

Tous sont acceptés mais on s'éloignera de ceux qui demandent l'impossible.

The topmost line, undivided, shows its subject with help accorded to him from Heaven. There will be good fortune, advantage in every respect.

14.6 (14 > 34) - Overcoming by waiting

When one is patient, others end up accepting.

14.6 (14 > 34) - Ta, le grand avoir

Tá : grand, grandeur, grandir, développement.

Il reçoit le secours du ciel. Tout tourne à son avantage.

14.6 (14 > 34) - Vaincre en patientant

Quand on est patient les autres finissent par accepter.

14.6 (14 > 34) - Az igények kielégítése

Ha valaki bajban van a többiek jönnek segíteni.

47 - THE KHWĂN HEXAGRAM.

In (the condition denoted by) Khwăn there may (yet be) progress and success. For the firm and correct, the (really) great man, there will be good fortune. He will fall into no error. If he make speeches, his words cannot be made good.

47 - The embarrassment

Circumstances or appearances play against one. Justifying oneself is useless, one will be understood later.

47 - K’uán, la détresse

K’uán : détresse, abattement, dureté, sévérité, mauvais traitements.

K’uan « détresse, abattement (dureté, sévérité) ». Celui qui, dans le danger, ne perd pas son principe de développement et qui en détresse même est encore calme et content, c’est l’homme vraiment grand (kiun tzè). Mais d’abord il peut commettre quelque erreur, tomber en détresse s’il se fie à toute parole ; qu’il ne le fasse pas, car la parole est peu sûre.

Texte

Droit et ferme, le grand homme sera heureux. Qu’il ne se fie pas à tout ce qu’on lui dit. — K’uán est le fort saisi, emprisonné, en détresse.

Symbolisme

Marais sans eau, cela figure la détresse. — Le sage expose même sa vie pour atteindre son but.

Commentaire

K’uán est celui qui est dans la détresse, le danger. Si alors même, il ne perd pas sa grandeur d’âme, c’est vraiment un grand homme. L’homme grand prospère s’il reste fermement vertueux. Mais qu’il ne se fie pas aux dires ; les estimer hautement, c’est s’exposer à sa perte.

47 - La gêne

Les circonstances ou les apparences jouent en notre défaveur. Se justifier est inutile, on sera compris plus tard.

• 2. The second line, undivided, shows its subject full of apprehension and appealing (for sympathy and help). Late at night hostile measures may be (taken against him), but he need not be anxious about them.
• 4. The fourth line, undivided, shows one from whose buttocks the skin has been stripped, and who walks slowly and with difficulty. (If he could act) like a sheep led (after its companions), occasion for repentance would disappear. But though he hear these words, he will not believe them.
• 6. The sixth line, divided, shows its subject without any (helpers) on whom to call. His end will be evil.

One is tested positive because the others have been suspicious.

43.2.4.6 (43 > 37) - Kwài, la décision

Kwāi : 1. Rivière divisée en branches ; diviser, couper, disperser ; 2. Décider, régler définitivement, résolu, tranchant ; 3. Habileté, art, prudence.

• 2. Celui qui est prudent et appelle à temps à son aide, dans une attaque, n’aura rien à en craindre. Il a pris le bon moyen.
  
• 4. Si l’on va comme manquant d’appui*, avançant pas à pas et comme conduisant un troupeau de moutons, par le fait même de cette lenteur prudente on n’aura point de cause de regret. On ne se fiera pas à tout ce qu’on entend dire.
  
  * Litt. : « Cul sans peau », expression proverbiale. Cf. notre expression : « Aller comme une manne sans fond », pour dire : aller étourdiment.
• 6. Si l’on n’a personne que l’on puisse appeler à son secours (bien que ferme et habile), on aura à la fin des revers.
