  • Daily reading: 10.2.4.5.6 (Sweden’s subtly radical ‘feminist’ foreign policy is causing a stir)

    Article: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...ausing-a-stir/

    The Yi Jing commented:

    Sweden’s subtly radical ‘feminist’ foreign policy is causing a stir -> 10.2.4.5.6 > 24

    The formation
    10 - Persistence
    One is committed with confidence, in the long term and with a simple goal, without looking for outside help.

    2 - One scoots.
    4 - One gets by because the support won't move.
    5 - One moves away from the path.
    6 - After looking backwards the challenges they have faced, one takes great satisfaction.

    In the making
    24 - To return
    One returns to see the results of their action.

    My interpretation:

    This is an article about foreign policy, yet the comment mentions that no outside help is looked after, so this is intriguing. While it gets four changing lines, this reading appears to be understandable without follow-up questions. We are going to ask some nonetheless.

    Who/what is committed? (10)

    Who/what is committed? -> 44.1.5 > 14

    The formation
    44 - Invitation
    One must not abuse hospitality.

    1 - One keeps away a close one who doesn't want to commit.
    5 - One protects those who are not ready yet with patience, until one is satisfied.

    This is about the feminist policy: keeping away (44.1) those who don't want to commit into women's rights (44.5).

    In the making
    14 - Meeting the demands
    Addressing the needs if the means are available.

    What is the goal? (10)

    What is the goal? -> 12.1 > 25

    The formation
    12 - Disorganization
    Problems prevent the progress. The best solution would be to leave.

    1 - If one makes a correction, they will make more.

    To fix the issues one after the other.

    In the making
    25 - Recklessness
    When one overlooks the future, they won't see what is coming.

    Who/what scoots? (10.2)

    Who/what scoots? -> 63

    The formation
    63 - Maximum
    One can make a few improvements to not see the decline.

    Here it is safer to ask again, because it is too open to interpret without doubt.

    What maximum? (63)

    What maximum? -> 22.2 > 26

    The formation
    22 - Reservation
    One shall not move too hastily.

    2 - One goes with their entourage, who may be useful.

    In the making
    26 - Checking
    See that everything is alright. In this way one will find the invisible problems.

    This is probably about the Ikea being blocked in Morocco.

    Who/what gets by? (10.4)

    Who/what gets by? -> 36.2.5 > 5

    The formation
    36 - Adversity
    One isolates themself to correct the situation.

    2 - Receiving a wound which will encourage to offer support.
    5 - One does not unveil themself to help others.

    The oppression on women.

    In the making
    5 - Patience
    Something is coming, look forward to it with confidence rather than going and see.

    Who/what is the support? (10.4)

    Who/what is the support? -> 40.3 > 32

    The formation
    40 - Amending
    One makes progress by abandoning what limited them.

    3 - When one neglects they give to others.

    In the making
    32 - Perseverance
    One must be careful before committing themself, after they must continue.

    Men who oppress women often say that they will cheat if let free.

    Who/what moves away? (10.5)

    Who/what moves away? -> 3

    The formation
    3 - Remedy
    Time will need to be spent. Seek assistance and clarify the situation by identifying the problems.

    What is the path? (10.5)

    What is the path? -> 5.2.5 > 36

    The formation
    5 - Patience
    Something is coming, look forward to it with confidence rather than going and see.

    2 - There was a bad start because there was no discussion.
    5 - Seeing it coming and having confidence.

    Talk with confidence.

    In the making
    36 - Adversity
    One isolates themself to correct the situation.

    What are the challenges? (10.6)

    What are the challenges? -> 43.6 > 1

    The formation
    43 - Revelation
    The concern shall be clearly described, shouting results in danger. Explain the situation to one's entourage. Avoid any brutality and do not divert.

    6 - It is imprudent to avoid questions when one doesn't want to be embarrassed.

    The countries that ignore women's rights refuse to talk.

    In the making
    1 - Evolution
    Changing to obtain quality work.

    Who/what takes great satisfaction? (10.6)

    Who/what takes great satisfaction? -> 13

    The formation
    13 - Company
    Making oneself available. Not taking one's own opinions into account. General agreement is impossible.

    This can be easily misinterpreted because we can think of women or the international community, but it could be something else, so we need to ask again.

    What company? (13)

    What company? -> 25.1 > 12

    The formation
    25 - Recklessness
    When one overlooks the future, they won't see what is coming.

    1 - One wants to see the evidence before accepting.

    In the making
    12 - Disorganization
    Problems prevent the progress. The best solution would be to leave.

    It appears to point at skeptical people. We need another question.

    What evidence? (25.1)

    What evidence? -> 44.3.4.6 > 29

    The formation
    44 - Invitation
    One must not abuse hospitality.

    3 - One does not move toward the danger without verifying and being prepared.
    4 - One is too weak to manage everything but has neglected those who could help, so one may return to them.
    6 - One asks their relatives to wait because they are not ready.

    In the making
    29 - Depth
    When problems are too difficult, one tries to work around them.

    Asking about the danger should clear the doubts.

    What is the danger? (44.3)

    What is the danger? -> 6.2.6 > 45

    The formation
    6 - Claim
    One is prevented from continuing, despite thinking that they say the truth. Do not use force to conclude. Entrust a mediator.

    2 - One should not claim what belongs to someone stronger, they will find comfort within their neighborhood.
    6 - If one forces through then they will have to forego their tranquillity.

    In the making
    45 - Group
    The responsibility of a group requires foresight, perseverance and availability.

    This is clearly about imposing harsh conditions on women.

    What are the results? (24)

    What are the results? -> 45.5 > 16

    The formation
    45 - Group
    The responsibility of a group requires foresight, perseverance and availability.

    5 - Others left but one can encourage them.

    Here we can ask again to be sure.

    Who/what left? (45.5)

    Who/what left? -> 38.1.6 > 40

    The formation
    38 - Misunderstanding
    One must revisit a misunderstanding if they want to dispel it. If needed, one can seek advice. One may abandon the small differences.

    1 - Friends who left will return and disparaging people will calm down if one remains peaceful.
    6 - One wanted to take the other away from them, then refrains because the latter comes to ask friendly questions.

    Solving the issues between men and women.

    In the making
    40 - Amending
    One makes progress by abandoning what limited them.

    Who/what can encourage them? (45.5)

    Who/what can encourage them? -> 58.2 > 17

    The formation
    58 - Attraction
    Wait before committing oneself. A simple proposal is enough. One wants to know what the other desires before responding.

    2 - Friends give up when one commits themself reluctantly.

    Diplomatic pressure.

    In the making
    17 - To guide
    When one rejoices others, they join with them.

    In the making
    16 - Youth
    Youth can be mobilized. It is a period of indecision which will be emerged through involvement.

    Conclusion:

    10.2 is about the Ikea store that cannot open in Morocco, 10.4 is about the ideological issues that prevent women to be free in many countries. 10.5 shows that talking does not work (Margot Wallström has been booted from a gathering, the article says). 10.6 is about the countries that do not want to talk with Sweden about women's right and are taking great satisfaction from it, those countries won't change their policies without evidence (25.1) that it is their interest to do so (44.3.4.6).

    The goal shown by hexagram 10 is to achieve gender's equality, the hexagram 24 shows that diplomatic pressure is the mean employed to reach that goal. This is a long reading of moderate difficulty.
